Opening Restaurant General Manager
RESTA CHAO is hiring a Restaurant General Manager for its new fast-casual restaurant at Westfield Fashion Square in Sherman Oaks, California. This is a full-time, on-site role with a start window from early September through late October 2026.
The manager will lead pre-opening recruitment, training, scheduling and launch readiness, then oversee daily operations, guest experience, food safety, sales, labor, food cost, inventory and team performance. The role also coordinates with Westfield management, vendors and our U.S. and China-based support teams.
Candidates should have 3+ years of restaurant management experience as a GM or strong AGM, restaurant-opening experience, and responsibility for P&L, labor, food cost and hourly-team leadership. Reliable transportation to Sherman Oaks and availability for evenings, weekends and holidays are required. ServSafe Manager certification, or the ability to obtain it within 60 days, is required. Mandarin or Cantonese is preferred, not required.
Base salary starts at $50,000, based on experience, plus overtime when required by law. ● 3+ years of restaurant-management experience as a GM, or as an AGM with full-store responsibility.
● Hands-on experience leading a new-store opening, major launch or restaurant reopening.
● Working knowledge of P&L, scheduling, labor, food cost, inventory, cash and waste control.
● Proven ability to recruit, train, coach and manage an hourly restaurant team.
● Professional English for employee, guest, vendor and regulatory communication; Mandarin or Cantonese is a plus because the role regularly works with a China-based operations support team, but it is not required.
● Current ServSafe Manager certification, or ability to obtain it within 60 days of hire; reliable commute to Sherman Oaks; and authorization to work in the United States.
● Able to remain active during restaurant service and safely lift or carry up to 40 pounds, with or without reasonable accommodation.
