About the Role
We are looking for a passionate, reliable, and responsible Part-Time Art Teacher to provide engaging, age-appropriate art instruction to students. The ideal candidate has a background in Art Education, Education, Fine Arts, or a related field, enjoys working with children, and can create a positive and encouraging learning environment.
This position requires regular travel between San Francisco and Foster City, so a valid driver’s license and reliable transportation are essential.
Responsibilities
Plan and teach engaging art lessons appropriate for students’ ages and skill levels
Introduce students to different art techniques, mediums, and creative concepts
Encourage creativity, confidence, and artistic expression
Prepare lesson materials and maintain an organized teaching environment
Provide constructive feedback and support students’ artistic development
Adapt teaching methods to accommodate different learning styles and abilities
Communicate effectively with parents regarding students’ progress when needed
Travel between San Francisco and Foster City for classes and/or student activities
Safely and reliably transport art materials and supplies as needed
Required Qualifications
Fluent in both Mandarin and EnglishValid driver’s license and reliable access to a car
Comfortable and willing to drive regularly between San Francisco and Foster City
Reliable, responsible, patient, and enthusiastic
Strong communication and interpersonal skills
Enjoys working with children and creating a positive learning environment
Strongly Preferred
Bachelor’s degree or higher in Art Education, Education, Fine Arts, Studio Art, or a related field
Formal training or coursework in Art Education
Previous experience teaching art to children or young learners
Experience developing or following an art curriculum
Strong foundation in drawing, painting, crafts, mixed media, or other visual arts
Experience with private or small-group art instruction
Experience with children’s art programs or after-school programs
Digital art or illustration experience
Portfolio demonstrating artistic ability and range
