Reports to the Maintenance Supervisor. On-site role (in-person work), requiring shift flexibility (1st or 2nd shift) and occasional overtime. DMSI is a contract manufacturer of nicotine and nootropic pouches. The Production Maintenance Mechanic will keep packaging and pouching lines running at full capacity, serving as the primary resource for setup, troubleshooting, and repair of sealing and filling equipment to minimize downtime and maintain tight quality and safety standards.
Key Responsibilities:
- Set up, adjust, and perform changeovers on vertical form-fill-seal (VFFS) and pouch/sachet packaging equipment.
- Diagnose and repair mechanical, pneumatic, and basic electrical faults on sealing jaws, servo drives, conveyors, fillers, and related systems.
- Dial in and maintain vertical and horizontal seal quality (temperature, pressure, dwell, alignment) to specification.
- Perform preventive and predictive maintenance on schedule and log all work.
- Respond quickly to line stoppages, identify root cause, and return equipment to production.
- Maintain spare-parts inventory awareness and flag reorder needs.
- Read and work from machine schematics, manuals, and mechanical drawings.
- Work cleanly within a GMP / food-safety environment and follow all lockout/tagout and safety procedures.
- Support installation and commissioning of new equipment as the operation grows.

Required Qualifications:
- 3+ years of hands-on industrial or production maintenance mechanic experience.
- Strong mechanical troubleshooting skills, including pneumatics and basic electrical.
- Ability to read schematics and technical documentation.
- Comfortable using hand tools, power tools, and precision measuring instruments.
- Able to stand for full shifts, lift up to 50 lbs, and work in a fast-paced production setting.
Preferred Qualifications:
- Direct experience with vertical form-fill-seal (VFFS) / vertical seal machinery.
- Experience in pouch, sachet, stick-pack, or similar high-speed packaging production.
- Background in a GMP, food, pharma, or nutraceutical manufacturing environment.
- Familiarity with servo-driven equipment and PLC-controlled lines.
